Sasan Gir National Park has 8 main safari routes. Route 1 starts from Sasan and passes through Khokhra, Sirvan, Devadungar, Bavalwalachowk, Kamleshwar, Kankai Check Post, and ends at Sasan. Most safari bookings are done online, and permits must be secured in advance. Safari hours are divided into 3-hour slots: 6 AM – 9 AM, 9 AM – 12 PM, and 3 PM – 6 PM. For the best wildlife sightings, early morning or late afternoon slots are recommended.
Gir National Park spans 1,413 sq. km of forest, grasslands, and water bodies. It is home to Asiatic Lions, leopards, blue bulls, wild boars, Indian gazelle, sambar, and spotted deer. Private transport is not allowed; the Forest Department safari is the only way to explore the park.
